Design Manager - Sprinkler

Intelligent Staffing Inc. is currently seeking a Design Manager for our Sprinkler department in Charlotte, NC. As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design layout, field checking, material equipment submittals, hydraulic calculations, and close-out procedures performed by the Layout Technicians. You will also be responsible for integrating other mechanical systems to ensure successful coordination with the fire suppression system.

What You Need:

• Five to seven years of experience with AutoCAD or SprinkCAD or a background in fire protection
• NICET Level III or IV
• Understanding of NFPA and local authorities having jurisdiction, fire, and building code requirements, as well as state and local code requirements
• Ability to interpret architect drawings and specifications
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
• Strong negotiation and problem-resolution skills, with an aptitude for leadership
• Ability to review architectural drawings, mechanical, site, structural, and complete site surveys
• Ability to exercise a high level of autonomy in organizing, planning, and prioritizing multiple projects
• Ability to monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures
• Ability to pass various background checks
• Reliable transportation and a valid State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

Note: An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in drafting (AutoCAD) is desirable but not required.

What You Will Do:

• Manage, supervise, and train the Design Department
• Oversee all aspects of the design layout, field checking, material equipment submittals, hydraulic calculations, and close-out procedures.
• Integrate other mechanical systems to ensure successful coordination with the fire suppression system.
• Maintain proper Risk Management and Safety procedures on all job sites.

Job Start Date, ASAP, M-F 9am-5pm (work may extend beyond regular working hours, project-specific) some weekends

Job Travel Requirements: Some travel and out-of-town work required, and a valid driver’s license is required
