Job description
Primary Role: You will be partnering with the Pharmacy Manager, preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.
Essential Job Functions:
Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
Other duties as necessary
Requirements
Required Education & Skills:
· Current License to practice (PharmD) in Pennsylvania
· Excellent oral, written skills
Experience:
· Previous leadership role helpful
· Previous experience utilizing patient management system
· 4 years related pharmacy experience
Physical Requirements:
· Standing for prolonged periods of time
· Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
Job requirements
4-5 years retail pharmacy experience and min. 3 years pharmacy management exp.
2-3 years of retail pharmacy exp.
Great leadership, communication and management skills.
